The main system, Septic Tank No. 1, was constructed to serve the original manor house and is situated to the north of the existing school buildings. The second system, Septic Tank No. 2 is situated to the east of the school buildings an The percolation area is located to the north of the tank, within the boundary of a walled garden At present, the site of the percolation area is overgrown with Japanese Knotweed. The ground was also wet. The inlet pipe to the septic tank is a 300mm diameter clay pipe. The main sewer line is approximately 170m long and runs from the church building at the southern end of the school complex to the septic tank. This line collects the discharge from the two-storey toilet block at the dormitories and from the main kitchen. The septic tank is de-sludged approximately every 3 months by a licenced contractor. Septic Tank No. 2 This tank is situated at the edge of the sports field at the eastern end of the school complex. The tank serves the toilet shower rooms of the sports hall. The percolation area is situated under the sports field. The Brief is to resolve the sewerage issues in relation to the sewerage at a cost of €571,500,64 inclusive of fees and VAT or the total cost of the works whichever is the lesser
