Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)

The National Roads Authority (NRA) (otherwise known as Transport Infrastructure Ireland, TII) requires a Road Weather Information Service (RWIS) to: - Assist the Road Network Maintainers to undertake Winter treatment of the national road network; - Enable TII to provide users with Road Weather Information relating to the national road network; and - Assist TII to plan and supervise construction and maintenance works for the National road network. TII owns a number of Weather Outstation assets that will provide roads specific Weather Observations for the new RWIS service. Details of these can be found in Annex 2: Weather Outstation Asset Register. The Service Provider shall provide a Road Weather information service to: - Ensure the required Road Weather Information is available to Users; and - Ensure the required assistance is provided to Users to enable them to make use of the service. The Service Provider shall provide the following services throughout the Contract term in accordance with these requirements: - Weather Outstation Operation and Maintenance; - A Weather Bureau including a Help Desk and Training; - Weather Outstation Supply and Installation; and - A RWIS Website.
