Kerry. The route has been split up into several construction packages with Kerry County Council undertaking the construction of some of the works under direct labour. It is currently anticipated that the scope of this Design and Build Contract will be related to the following elements of the South Kerry Greenway. Section 2 Griffins Cottage to Kells Post Office (CH 18200 to CH 25650m) Cahersiveen (Valentia Estuary) Bridge (CH 5180m) Gleensk Viaduct (CH 21,800m) N70 Overbridge (CH 26,870m) N70 Underpass (CH 14,680m) Kells Car Park (CH 18,200m) The works requirements for the above sections will encompass all works necessary to complete the greenway including, design, PSDP Services, PSCS Services, environmental management, earthworks, drainage, pavement, fencing, landscaping, signage, slope stabilization, retaining wall construction, rehabilitation of existing structures, construction of new structures, road realignment, traffic management and all other services necessary to complete the works. The Design and Build Section contains a number of bridge structures and tunnels of historical and cultural significance. It is a requirement that all the conditions imposed by the Planning Consent, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report, the associated Schedule of Environmental Commitments, and the Natura Impact Statement, and any Wildlife and Derogation Licenses are complied with in full. The greenway route traverses or is in close proximity to several Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) and Special Protection Areas (SPA). The project is subject to strict environmental controls in accordance with the plans, particulars and conditions associated with the project consents. Environmental management will form a key part of the successful execution of this project. In particular, it is a requirement that construction is carried out in accordance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), other environmental management plans required under the EIAR and NIS, relevant Wildlife and derogation licenses to create and manage a suitable receiving environment for the Kerry Slug in the area affected by the proposed greenway. A series of advance works contracts are currently being completed. These include the construction of a Gabion Trial Section at Mountain Stage and Site Clearance and Temporary Fencing. Candidates that are pre-qualified and shortlisted on the basis of their responses to this first stage Pre-Qualification may be invited to participate in the second stage Tender. That tender competition will be awarded on the basis of the Most Economically Advantageous Tender based on Award Criteria made up of 70 (Price) and 30 (Quality).
