Housing Developers in Meath County Council are being asked to consider offering new turnkey Residential Developments under construction or recently completed and Uncommenced Residential Developments with planning permission to Meath County Council under an advance purchase turnkey arrangement. Meath County Council are seeking to enter into advance purchase arrangements to secure homes in areas where the need, in particular for social and affordable housing is most acute. Joint Venture arrangements that include an Approved Housing Body will be considered. Meath County Council is seeking to create sustainable communities by encouraging a greater mix of social, affordable and private housing. This advance purchase opportunity has been put in place to provide for accelerated delivery of housing generally, and primarily, to provide social and affordable homes for eligible applicants nominated by the Local Authority in areas where a significant need for social and affordable housing has been identified. It is anticipated that, depending on circumstances and proposals, local authorities will enter into an advance purchase agreement for an approved number of homes, with payment on completion. Please note that the requirements under Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended will apply in the normal way to all proposals.
