Darndale Park โ€“ waste removal and wall construction

The Contract comprises clearance and removal of approximately 40,000 tonnes of illegally dumped waste material and construction of boundary treatments and 117m of new 2.5m high precast boundary wall and footpath between Darndale Park and a group of Traveller Accommodation site known as the Northern Sites on the north side of Dublin within the boundaries of Darndale and Priorswood. The works shall include site clearance, removal of all waste material (investigations suggest non-hazardous), removal of asbestos, removal of end-of-life vehicles and other electrical goods, treatment and removal of invasive species, construction of concrete boundary walls, construction of new footpath, environmental monitoring. There is a requirement for removal of hazardous waste should it be encountered. Temporary works shall include construction of a construction stage haul road through Darndale Park to provide site access and all associated reinstatement works, protection to all existing services, fencing of works areas etc. Design of temporary works shall form part of the works. The estimated value of the works is envisaged to be โ‚ฌ7.5m (ex VAT) however this figure will largely be dependent on the make-up of the waste material. Applications are only sought from Contractors who have a proven track record in the works as described above. Applications are not sought from general building contractors who proposed to sub-contract the whole of the works.. Please note that this project is subject to funding.
