The Policy Unit in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Development Cooperation and Africa Division (DCAD) provides support for policy development and planning across the Government’s development cooperation programme, Irish Aid. Policy support will be required in 2024, specifically in the areas of global health including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Individual consultant support is now required to support our engagement in a number of important internal and external events and processes, these include: • Writing of a series of global health thematic papers including ones on health and nutrition, health and climate change and health in emergencies. • Provision of technical support to Missions on their programming and strategy in relation to health, on a request-driven basis • Provision of inputs and supports to activities related to the new SRHR initiative • Engagement with Ireland’s global health domestic partners, to develop and implement systems to strengthen results-based management of their programmes • Review proposals and reports from global health partners and support in grant management processes as requested • Support Ireland’s engagement at Board level with multilateral global health partners.
