Short description:
The Joinery Reserved Specialist works will include works to nationally significant early 18th century architectural joinery, consisting of pilasters, entablatures, balustrades, cornices, wall panelling, bookshelves, staircases, doors, floorboards, ceiling vaults, etc. including elaborately carved architectural details, and to associated early examples of structural timber, including posts, beams, joists, trusses, etc. Work will include localised dismantling and reassembly, timber repairs, structural strengthening measures, recording of details, all to the highest standards of conservation, and requiring a thorough understanding of historic timber production, materials, detailing and finishes.

The Joinery Reserved specialist will be contracted to the main contractor and will be required to deliver their works so as to co-operate and comply with the works delivery, site operations, health and safety policies and works programme delivered and managed by the Main Contractor.

That said, the Contracting Authority intends to comply with the spirit of the 2016 Regulations. With the above in mind, the Contract Notice has been published at EU level to encourage participation and support a healthy procurement procedure.
