Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified Applicants interested in being considered for the supply of chemicals to Edenderry Power. The Contracting Entity intends to establish a single supplier Framework Agreement for the provision of: Lot 1 Sodium Bicarbonate. The Contracting Entity intends to establish a multi supplier Framework Agreement for the provision of: Lot 2 Limestone Lot 3 Sodium Hypochlorite 15 percent, Sodium Hydroxide Caustic Soda Liquor 30 percent, and Hydrochloric Acid 36 percent HCL Lot 4 Urea 40 percent Solution The Framework Agreement period will be for two years with the possibility to extend annually for up to 8 years. It is envisaged that the five highest ranked suitably qualified Applicants (subject to the quality of applications received) including ties will be shortlisted to proceed to the tender stage of the competition.

Description of the procurement:
Lot 1 Sodium Bicarbonate โ€“ Single Supplier Once this Framework Agreement is in place and as and when requirements arise, individual contracts will be awarded to the framework member of Lot 1 Sodium Bicarbonate under the terms of the framework and the scope set out in the contract. Annual usage varies depending on fuel quality. The approximate annual usage for the product is estimated at 1,500 metric tonnes but could be less. The product should be provided in bulk, be able to be transported in 20 tonne consignments by bulk tanker, and blown into a silo onsite at Edenderry Power. Successful Framework Members may need to provide a sodium bicarbonate sample to be sent to have an independent chemical analysis carried out on it to determine its suitability for use unless they can provide evidence of an independent chemical analysis carried out in the last five years. The sample / evidence of an independent chemical analysis must be approved before we can progress to award. Random sampling will also be carried out over the duration of the Framework Agreement.

The Framework shall be operated in line with the rules set out in the Framework Agreement, and as detailed in the tender documents: Mini-tender competitions will be held between the members of the Framework Agreement. Annual usage varies depending on fuel quality. Recent yearly usage has been between 76t to 2740t. The approximate annual usage for the product is estimated at 1,400 metric tonne. The product should be provided in bulk and be able to be transported in 26.5 metric tonne consignments by bulk tanker and blown into a silo onsite at Edenderry Power. Successful Framework Members may need to provide a limestone sample to be sent to have an independent chemical analysis carried out on it to determine its suitability for use unless they can provide evidence of an independent chemical analysis carried out in the last five years. The sample / evidence of an independent chemical analysis must be approved before we can progress to award. Random sampling will also be carried out over the duration of the Framework Agreement.

The Framework shall be operated in line with the rules set out in the Framework Agreement, and as detailed in the tender documents: Mini-tender competitions will be held between the members of the Framework Agreement. Lot 3 Sodium Hypochlorite 15% Annual usage may vary depending on plant output. The approximate annual usage for the product is estimated at 22 metric tonnes. The product is usually required every two months and should be able to be transported by bulk tanker in 3000 to 3500 litre consignments and pumped across to a tank onsite at Edenderry Power. There is also a requirement for up to 2 IBCโ€™s of Sodium Hypochlorite 15% per year. Successful Framework Members may need to provide a sodium hypochlorite sample to be sent to have an independent chemical analysis carried out on it to determine its suitability for use unless they can provide evidence of an independent chemical analysis carried out in the last five years. The sample / evidence of an independent chemical analysis must be approved before we can progress to award. Random sampling will also be carried out over the duration of the Framework Agreement. Lot 3 Sodium Hydroxide Liquor 30% (Caustic Soda) Annual usage may vary depending on Plant output. The approximate annual usage for the product is estimated at 55 metric tonnes. The product should be provided in bulk, be able to be transported in 22 metric tonne consignments by bulk tanker and blown into a silo onsite at Edenderry Power. Successful Framework Members may need to provide a sodium hydroxide liquor sample to be sent to have an independent chemical analysis carried out on it to determine its suitability for use unless they can provide evidence of an independent chemical analysis carried out in the last five years.
