Short description
University College Dublin wishes to purchase a high-resolution multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (HR-ICP-MS) equipped with a reaction gas cell and pre-filter or similar arrangement to facilitate the elimination of isobaric interferences that limit the current generation of HR-MC-ICP-MS instruments. Sample introduction to the instrument should be possible via an aspirated solution and via a laser ablation system (ArF excimer) coupled to the instrument. The primary role of the system is to undertake interference-free analyses (high-precision isotope ratio measurements of Li, S, K, Ca, Fe, Cu, Zn, Se, Rb, Sr, Hf, Re, Os, Pb, Nd, Th, U) on a variety of geological, archaeological and biological matrices in the National Centre for Isotope Geochemistry (NCIG) at UCD.
