Description of the procurement
The works will involve the following:-
•Clearance of vegetation and soil in the works area to form a firm formation for the works. Sorting, identification and adequate storage of any materials suitable for reuse within the rock armour structures and also appropriate disposal offsite of any materials unsuitable for reuse.
•Access to the site shall be as shown on the drawings and works shall be programmed by contractor in accordance with tidal cycles.
•Set out of toe line and top line of rock armour walls for inspection.
•Repair and replacement of rock armour coastal defences.
•Repair and replacement of boundary walls, if necessary.
•Locating and maintaining the function and operation of all existing services (including existing culvert) within the site throughout the construction programme.
•Where necessary for access or for safety reasons, removal and reconstruction of the existing property boundary. Any reconstructed boundaries shall be made similar in appearance to the existing structure and to a standard as agreed with the property owner.
•Making good of any landscaped areas which are used for a site compound or which are damaged during construction works to a standard agreed with the property owner.
•Reinstatement of all road surfaces and works areas and access routes.
•All plant and equipment to avoid entering areas on Invasive Alien Species along the site access route. Where invasive Alien Species are encountered onsite, within the site compound or along the site access route, the contractor shall refer to the Invasive Alien Species Management Plan (IASMP). Areas of invasive species are detailed in the IASMP.
•If necessary, provide temporary alternative access route to existing public areas for the duration of the works.
•Deliveries, site access and works in intertidal and wave zones to be scheduled by the contractor in accordance with the tidal cycles, weather forecast and sea condition forecasts.
