Overhead Line Construction for North-South 400 kV Interconnector under a Multi-contractor Framework Agreement
Electricity Supply Board (ESB)
Electricity Supply Board (ESB) proposes procuring a multi-contractor framework agreement for the installation of a North-South 400 kV overhead line. ESB is undertaking the procurement of the framework agreement on behalf of itself for works in the Republic of Ireland (ROI) and on behalf of Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Ltd (NIE Networks) for works in Northern Ireland (NI) and is the contracting entity for the purposes of this Procurement. The successful contractors to this framework agreement should be willing to undertake works in Northern Ireland on behalf of NIE Networks and in the Republic of Ireland on behalf on ESB. The multi-contractor framework agreement will involve the construction of a single circuit 400 kV overhead transmission line supported by circa 401 towers for a distance of circa 140 km from a new NIE Networks substation at Turleenan, Co. Tyrone to the existing ESB substation in Woodland, Co. Meath.
