Racecourse-based Tote betting in Ireland takes place at various racecourses during different times of the year, with the typical racecourse operating anything from 8 to 25 days in the year. Outside of these days the racecourses are typically closed for business. The terminal requirements at any individual meeting range from 10 to 350 for operator-based handheld betting terminals.
