The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Ireland operates the National Radiation Monitoring Network (NRMN) as part of its responsibility to implement the National Plan for Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Exposures and to report monitoring data for ionising radiation to international radiological notification systems such as the European Radiological Data Exchange Platform (EURDEP) and the Unified System for Information Exchange in Incidents and Emergencies (USIE). The NRMN operates a gamma dose rate monitoring network that consists of 15 gamma dose rate probes. The NRMN plans to upgrade the existing gamma dose rate system and increase the total number of gamma dose rate monitoring systems to 23 over the next 4 years.
