This contract relates to the supply, installation, commissioning and support of two firewall solutions, as specified in the Invitation to Tender document. On an optional basis, however, the contracting authority may make additional purchases under this contract relating to the specified solution under any of the following categories:

• an additional iteration of any hardware or software comprising an element of the installed solution;
• a replacement or upgraded iteration of any hardware or software comprising an element of the installed solution;
• any hardware or software associated with, or necessary for the successful performance of, the installed solution;
• any services associated with, or necessary for the successful performance of, the installed solution.
The contracting authority shall be entitled to avail of such options both during the initial 4-year period of the contract and during any subsequent extension(s). For the avoidance of doubt, no additional purchase shall have the effect of increasing the maximum potential duration of this contract, which shall be fixed at 8 years. No guarantee is offered, nor should any guarantee be inferred, regarding the award of any option under this contract.
