Short description:
The building structure is a concrete frame with lightweight internal walls. The external elevation will consist of high-quality brick with vertical emphasis deep reveal windows on the east, south and west facade. The windows are anodised aluminium. Sections of the envelope will be a curtain walling system with flush joints incorporating opening sections. The roof is a single membrane on a RC structure.

Internally the building has lightweight internal walls and is subdivided into separate spaces to house the separate accommodations.
The flexible office space is arranged around a central circulation atrium and the main staircase. The interior finishes of the atrium will incorporate high quality brick to match the exterior.
The building is to be both naturally (mix mode) and mechanically ventilated/heated and achieve a daylight rating. The project must achieve a BREEAM excellent rating and comply with NZEB requirements.
The siteworks includes for site preparation, a new access road (Phase 1, Stage 1 of the Precinct 2 Master Plan orbital road), a new surface carpark, new tarmac roads, new services which connect into existing services and a soakaway.
The development also consists of alterations to the site layout, access and parking arrangements for the Health Innovation Hub which was permitted under planning register Ref. Nos. 18/4921 and 15/6689.

The original suitability assessment questionnaire (SAQ) section 1.9 noted a requirement for specialists for the following disciplines โ€ข mechanical services installations โ€“ reserved specialist โ€ข electrical services installations โ€“ reserved specialist. As part of the ongoing design/tender document development UCC/CUDSH has reviewed its project procurement strategy and has decided to add the requirement for the following additional specialists which were identified as โ€˜other works to be completed by an independent contractorโ€™ in section 1.10 of the original SAQ โ€ข dental cabinetry โ€“ reserved specialist โ€ข specialist storage โ€“ reserved specialist โ€ข dental chairs โ€“ novated specialist โ€ข simulation units โ€” novated specialist โ€ข CDU equipment โ€” novated specialist. The value of the additional specialists is estimated at c EUR 5.1 million and the estimated value has been amended accordingly in the corrigendum notice Revised pre-qualification information memorandum and suitability assessment questionnaire are appended to this notice with time limit date of 12.00 noon on 31 July 2020. A clarification letter is being sent to all contractors who have already made a submission to inform them of the changes as set out in this notice and giving them the option of either confirming the information in the submission already made or making a new submission by the revised time limit date.
