Description of the procurement
Aircraft mechanics are employed throughout the aviation industry in a wide range of facilities designed to maintain light, rotary and large commercial aircraft. Aircraft mechanics inspect, maintain and repair airframe structures, engines, electronic and avionic systems.
The programme covers Engineering plus an introduction to Avionics, Aircraft Structures, Jet Engines and Systems. On finishing this programme, Apprentices are awarded the National Craft Certificate by Quality Qualifications Ireland and an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence by the Irish Aviation Authority.
