It is expected that the final vertical alignment will require 600m of embankments and 300m of cutting. Localised attenuation ponds/tanks will also be required in addition to the culverting of a number of local streams/ditches. Local services, including gas, power, water and telecoms, are expected to be included in the scheme.

Significantly the scheme will also include the construction of major new trunk water assets on the behalf of Irish Water. Preliminary design details of which are provided below;

— A 750mm internal dia. gravity sewer to 3-8m in depth,

— A 500mm dia. foul water raising main,

— A 500mm dia. ductile iron potable water main.
