Daa at Dublin Airport has a requirement for a third party to provide certified personnel to operate and manage the Hold Baggage Screening operation in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practice. Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport processed 3 600 000 bags on 43 200 flights in 2016. The successful company must be capable of operating to Terminal 2's full design capacity (which is 43 200 flights per annum), all equipment so provided by daa and manual processes as may be required by regulations. The objective of this service is to screen all hold baggage prior to being loaded onto an aircraft in order to prevent prohibited articles from being introduced into security restricted areas and on board an aircraft.
