Dublin City Council intends to set up a framework for Consulting Civil and Structural Engineers to provide engineering services to various types of building projects. The following is a non-exhaustive list of the type of work:
โ€” Enabling works and site development works,
โ€” Demolition works,
โ€” Civil works design (including access roads, car parking, external works to building projects),
โ€” Structural works design (housing, extensions and alterations to existing buildings, conversion of bedsit accommodation, civic buildings, dangerous buildings, precinct improvement projects, concrete repair, historic buildings, structures in public realm),

โ€” Appraisal of existing buildings,
โ€” Feasibility studies,
โ€” Engineering reports,
โ€” Condition surveys for properties that the City Council is considering purchasing (survey may cover all parts of the Building Regulations),
โ€” Flood risk assessment,
โ€” Investigation of building defects including pyrite,
โ€” Studies and reports on alternative methods of construction,
โ€” Additional services such as PSDP, design certifier, and cost control on certain projects predominantly of an engineering nature e.g. demolition, enabling works.
Housing work may include works to houses, flats, senior citizens dwellings, and any ancillary buildings or structures. Civic buildings may include community centres, libraries, council depots, stores, garages, plantrooms, and any ancillary buildings or structures. Also included are miscellaneous structural problems in the public realm such as retaining walls, freestanding walls, lighting columns, gates and gateposts, lighting catenaries, artworks, and any other structure in a public or semi public area.
