Design, specify and supply an AC to AC power take off and control system for 25 kW Hydro-kinetic Turbine
DesignPro is developing a prototype 25 kW hydro-kinetic turbine to convert kinetic energy in water flows to electrical power. The design of unit incorporates 2 hydro-kinetic turbines that each drive standard induction motors via an in line gearbox to generate 3 phase AC power. The power output varies with the rotation of the turbines. DesignPro requires an integrated PLC control system + AC to AC power take off system that can utilise the operational parameters of standard 3 phase induction motors to control turbine rotational speed so as to optimise power output and efficiency. The system must also be capable of adapting the initial power outputs of the induction motors to a standard that is acceptable for injection into the power grid. The gearboxes and induction motors will be supplied separately and do not form part of this tender request. Tenders for the design, specification and supply of the PLC control system + AC to AC power take off are being requested.
