IBTS policy dictates that approximately 9 months of frozen archive material is
retained on-site (average temperature of -30ฬŠC; range = -20ฬŠC to -40ฬŠC) before
shipping to an off-site facility for secure storage under temperature controlled
conditions. All IBTS archive material will have undergone routine viral screening in
effect at the time of donation. Certain IBTS archive samples will be classified as
infectious biological materials and all relevant archive boxes/containers containing
such infectious biological materials will be clearly labelled.
