The primary function of this automate/s is to perform:
— ABO grouping and RhD typing, including a reverse type using A1 and B
cells.
— Antibody Screening, Identification and titre determination by Enzyme
and IAHGT techniques.
— Antigen typing, which must utilise two typing antisera and determine at
a minimum the following types:
o Fya, Fyb, S, s, k (cellano), Kpb and M.
o C, c, E, e and K.
o Partial Rh D typing
The system will comprise two fully independent automates, to provide
back up to each other
and therefore must not share any common component/s which would compromise
the
functioning of the other system. They would preferably be open platforms and
comprising of
all the hardware and software necessary to meet the testing requirements. All
testing
materials, consumables and reagents required must be CE marked.
There is also a requirement to perform sickle cell ( HbS ) screening on
approximately 50
samples per day.
