Horse Racing Ireland (HRI)

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) was established by the Irish Government under the Horse and Greyhound Racing Act 2001. It is a commercial semi-state body that took over the functions previously carried out by the Irish Horse Racing Authority and is responsible for the promotion, development and administration of Irish horse racing. HRI subsidiaries include Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Ltd (ITM), Tote Ireland Ltd and the HRI Racecourse Division. HRI headquarters are located in Ballymany, Newbridge, Co Kildare.
The Turf Club (and INHSC) is the Regulatory Body for horseracing in Ireland; the organisation that for over 200 years has been responsible for the integrity and the reputation of Irish racing both in Ireland and internationally. Founded in 1790 The Turf Club incorporates the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee (INHSC) and is responsible for both flat and national hunt racing in Ireland. Through the INHSC the Turf Club is also responsible for Point to Point racing. The Turf Club (and the INHSC) is solely and independently responsible for making and enforcing the Rules of Racing in Ireland and under the Horse Racing Ireland Act 2016 is responsible for making all decisions in relation to doping control, forensic and handicapping for horse racing.
HRI and The Turf Club are now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified suppliers for the provision of analytical instruments and laboratory management software. The attached document provides an outline of the key objectives and requirements that should be considered in the response.
