considered for inclusion for consideration for a one-off contract to assist the
Planning and Building Unit of the Department of Education and Skills (DES) with
its Site Acquisition Programme.
The Department of Education and Skills is currently engaged in delivering a 6
year school building programme. Many of the schools included in this plan will
require new sites. In addition new sites will be required for other new schools
announced to open in the coming years.

The Planning and Building Unit of the DES comprises administrative and professional & technical staff. Negotiations regarding site acquisitions are primarily overseen by administrative staff while the professional & technical staff provide a range of professional advice with regard to technical site feasibility.It is proposed to place a contract for a specific number of site acquisitions for a minimum of 10 acquisitions and maximum of 20 acquisitions over the duration of this contract.
