Single Party Framework Agreement for the manufacture, supply and erection of โDublineโ Interpretative Panels
Dublin City Council proposes to establish a Single Party Framework Agreement for 3 years with an option to extend for a further year, for the manufacture, supply and erection of interpretive panels as part of the โDubline' route in the form of illuminated interpretive panels at key cultural and tourist locations.
Dublin's Wayfinding System provides a simple navigational tool for pedestrians using the City. It provides a comprehensive and consistent directional wayfinding system across the city centre and beyond, containing essential local information to help and encourage people to walk around and explore the City. Based on a mapping system, it consists of a network of map panels, combination panels and fingerpost signs.
The purpose of the โDubline' Interpretative Panels is to build on and complement the existing wayfinding system, by providing an additional layer of information for the visitor to the city. It is proposed that this addition to the system will direct visitors to destinations, landmarks and places of interest of a more local character, located on or in the vicinity of the โDubline' walking route. In order to ensure an overall consistency in the quality of the wayfinding system, it is intended that the design, materials and finishes of the panel structure together with its content should be of equal or superior quality to the existing map panels and finger poles already in place. Furthermore, it will be a requirement that the new structures will enhance the public realm and help foster a unique identity for the city of Dublin. The interpretative panels will initially be provided at a number of locations along the โDubline' route from Kilmainham to Parnell Square.
