Sample Analysis of Food of Animal Origin for Ireland's National Residue Control Programme
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine requires laboratories to carry out a range of screening and/or confirmatory analysis on a variety of samples of animal origin (animal tissue, plasma, serum, retina, honey, milk, eggs) collected under Ireland's National Residue Control Programme (NRCP), a food safety programme drawn up in accordance with Council Directive 96/23/EC. The range of screening analysis required in varying matrix/species combinations includes stilbenes, thyrostats, steroids, beta-agonists, nitrofurans, antibacterial substances and corticosteroids. The range of confirmatory analysis required in varying matrix/species combinations includes stilbenes, thyrostats, steroids, beta-agonists, nitrofurans, antibacterial substances, corticosteroids and carbadox.
