Railway Panel Dismantling and Ferrous Scrap Disposal for Iarnród Éireann
Iarnrod Eireann-Irish Rail
Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites applications to participate in the pre-qualification process to appoint suitably qualified companies to a qualification system for Railway Panel Dismantling and Ferrous Scrap Disposal requirements that arise on an ad-hoc basis. Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) have quantities of scrap in various locations throughout the network.
A location or a number of locations will form a ‘package’, bidders will have the opportunity to bid for 1 or more packages.
a. Ferrous scrap — ready for shipment.
b. Ferrous scrap in assemblies of panels.
There are quantities of railway panels of various lengths (typically 45 ft or 60 ft) with steel rail affixed to either timber or concrete sleepers.
All of the Ferrous materials (rail and fixings) are to be disposed of as part of this process.
Quantities tendered can be as small as 10 tonne and as large as 500 tonne.
There is a restriction on the disposal of creosoted timber sleepers but the disposal of concrete sleepers may be incorporated into some packages. The contractor will be required to dismantle the panels on site, and dispose of the ferrous product, The creosoted sleepers (and /or other sleepers) are to be retained on Iarnród Éireann‘s premises, stacked and bound and kept secure at all times.
Those companies successfully appointed to the Qualification System will receive all future tender enquiries.
The Qualification System will run from 1.1.2016 to 31.12.2018.
A Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is attached to this notice and must be completed and returned as directed.
