Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites applications from suitably qualified companies to participate in the pre-qualification process establish a Qualification System with professionals in the field of paint and weld inspection services. Iarnród Éireann wish to establish a Qualification System with professionals in the field of paint and weld inspection services.
Steelwork fabricated for Iarnród Eireann is specified in accordance with BS 5400: part 6 and sections 90, 100, 130, 131, 133, 170 and 172 of Iarnród Éireann's specification for steelworks with extract R.T. 98 — protective treatments for railway infrastructure.
The purpose is to provide independent expert advice to Iarnród Eireann during the fabrication, repair and protective treatment application process.
Broad experience in undertaking inspections of painting and welding operations in civil and structural engineering, with particular experience in heavy railway engineering fabrication.
In-depth experience in surface preparation, painting and welding defects and all paint and welding procedures.
A copy of CV detailing relevant experience should be attached to pre-qualification questionnaire.
Duties involved will include the following:
— Carry out independent inspections of both painting and welding operations on an ad hoc basis,
— Provide advice on preparation of painting and welding specifications for various bespoke projects,
— Prepare reports on the findings of inspections, giving particular attention to quality control and compliance with specification.
Those companies successfully pre-qualified will receive all future tender enquiries.
The Qualification System will run from 24.1.2016 to 23.1.2019.
A Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is attached to this notice and must be completed and returned as directed.
