Mechanical and Electrical Services Upgrade
The works consists of the upgrade and replacement of existing mechanical services installation along with the introduction of a combined heat and power system to improve efficiency and reduce the overall annual running costs for the crystal Leisure Centre, Cork Road, Co. Waterford. The Crystal Sports and Leisure Centre is a 2-storey building comprising of the following:
— 25 metre indoor swimming pool,
— Changing rooms,
— Sauna,
— Sports Hall,
— Bar,
— Kitchen,
— Café/Restaurant.
The main plant and equipment was installed in 1998 and has been poorly maintained in the interim. There are 3 main mechanical plant areas:
a) Mechanical boiler plant room located on the ground floor,
b) Swimming pool filtration room adjacent to boiler room at ground floor level,
c) AHU Swimming pool and changing areas located on flat roof above the gym.
