GMIT Framework for the supply, install and maintenance services of network equipment
Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) would like to establish a framework agreement with a single operator for the supply, installation and maintenance of network equipment, including wireless and IP telephony, for a duration of 4 years. The initial contract will be for 12 months with an option to award further contracts within the 4 year period. GMIT's network infrastructure comprises a number of Switched Ethernet Networks on 4 campuses, which are networked to the Dublin Road Campus. Each campus has a switched gigabit Ethernet backbone and is based on the end-to-end use of Cisco architecture and technologies. The active network consists of approximately 100 devices (switches, routers, firewalls etc.) and provides the infrastructure for wireless and IP telephony services and also provides network connectivity for in excess of 2 400 wired devices and a large wireless user community. Over the duration of this framework agreement GMIT is proposing to replace a number of network devices such as edge switches, Layer Three (L3) campus switches, firewalls and to further expand wireless and IP telephony services across all campuses.
