Delivering public services: a greater role for the private sector? Case studies on hospital services
Eurofound — European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions
These case studies are part of a research project looking at the impact of private provision on the accessibility, quality and efficiency of hospital services. Private provision includes both profit and not for profit. The hospitals included can be newly built private hospitals, services contracted out to private providers, developing public-private partnerships, the corporatisation of public hospitals and selling public hospitals to the private sector. The case studies contracted out with this tender will identify measures that have been evaluated in terms of the impact on affordability, effectiveness and accessibility.
