To provide a better understanding of the changes in the nature of key manufacturing occupations in Europe in recent years, as a result of factors such as technology (primarily) or institutional change, and their implications for skills, work organisation, working conditions and industrial relations.
This initiative is 1 element of a pilot project funded by the European Union, entitled ‘The Future of Manufacturing in Europe’ which was entrusted to Eurofound for implementation by the European Commission.
To perform this task, the contractors will carry out a comparative qualitative analysis of 5 key occupations in 4 countries each covering different European regions (Nordics, United Kingdom and Ireland, Continental, Mediterranean).
