PG108T926 Knottingley power CCGT development
The combined cycle gas turbine power station, to be constructed east of Knottingley, West Yorkshire, UK, will consist of up to 3 separate single shaft generating units, hybrid cooling towers and other ancillary structures and will have a nominal net electrical output capacity of no more than 1 500 MWe at ISO conditions. The power station will be gas fired and served by an 8 km long underground gas pipeline connecting the power station to the National Grid Transmission System south of the town of Gateforth. Electrical connection works, to be undertaken by others, will take place directly adjacent to the power station to facilitate connection to the National Grid 400 kV electricity transmission system. Cooling water will be available from either the adjacent Aire and Calder Navigation canal or the River Aire located approximately 1 km away.
This call for competition notice is published on a voluntary basis by the purchaser. this procurement competition is not governed by the Utilities Directive given the exemption under Article 30 of Directive 2004/17 EC (Utilities Directive) for the Great Britain electricity generation sector and it is not intended that the Utilities Directive procedures will be applied to this procurement competition.
