ESB Generation & Wholesale Markets (Generation) is a business unit of Electricity Supply Board, the state owned electricity utility in Republic of Ireland. Generation has a requirement for the provision of Statutory Inspection Services to its generating stations (see www.esb.ie for Power Stations). This portfolio of stations may also include its generating station at Pigeon House Road, Ringsend, Dublin 4, owned and operated by ESBs subsidiary companies Synergen Power Ltd. and Utility O&M Services Ltd. respectively along with Coolkeeragh ESB Ltd, Northern Ireland. ESB invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates interested in being considered for the following scope of work: Thorough examination by a competent person of the following items of equipment:
Lifting appliances including gantry cranes, mobile cranes, lifting beams, overhead hoists, chain blocks, lever hoists and forklifts.
Lifting gear including chains, wire ropes, slings, shackles and eye bolts.
Passenger Lifts, and mobile elevating work platforms.

Only those parties who have completed the shortlisting/ pre-qualification process will be eligible for inclusion in this procurement process. Please note shortlisted suppliers will be requested to participate in tender process through Government eTenders site: www.etenders.gov.ie Responses to the questionnaire are required on or before close of business (17.30 GMT) on 25.8.2014. Further information is set out in pre-qualification questionnaire and below: a) It is ESBs intention to shortlist suitable candidates. b) ESB will not be responsible for costs, charges or expenses incurred by candidates, whether or not a final contract is awarded. c) This notice is to serve as the sole Call for Competition for this contract. d) Requests cannot be entertained beyond the date stipulated in Section IV.3.3. e) In connection with the award of the contract, the Tenderer shall be required to identify the entity that would be responsible for the receipt and processing of orders and the resolution of any and all problems relating to this contract. f) In responding to this notice, companies must indicate if they propose to submit a group bid and , if so, must provide full details of the participating companies. (See section III1.3). g) The negotiated procedure will be used, however, the contracting entity retains the option to accept initial bids without further negotiations. h) ESB reserves the right to award the contract in full or in part, or not at all. i) Suppliers attention is directed to Article 58.2 of Directive 2004/17/EC. j) Award to Runner Up - If for any reason it is not possible to conclude the contract with the designated successful tenderer emerging from this competitive process, ESB reserves the right to award the contract to the next highest scoring tenderer on the basis of the terms advertised. This shall be without prejudice to the right of ESB to cancel this competitive process and/or initiate a new contract award procedure at its sole discretion. k) ESB reserves the right to seek additional contractual and commercial safeguards in the event that the financial position of the proposed vendor deteriorates. ESB also reserves the right not to award the contract to the proposed vendor in such circumstances. l) The contracting entity reserves the right to conclude this contract, or withdraw from the process, at its sole discretion. m) The contract may initially be for a duration of 3 years, subject to annual review with the purchasers option to extend for a further 2 years subject to satisfactory performance and suitable commercial terms.
