DIT currently occupies a total of 32 separate buildings located throughout the greater Dublin area. From September 2014, DIT will commence occupation of buildings in the new Grangegorman campus, which is currently under development in Dublin 7. As part of the Grangegorman campus development project, DIT will commence operation of a new security monitoring control room (the โ€œControl Roomโ€). The Control Room will serve as the central monitoring point for all DIT occupied buildings, and will monitor all CCTV outputs, together with intruder alarm and fire alarm activations. The Control Room will operate 24 hours per day, 365/366 days per year. The Control Room will be staffed by DIT direct employees during normal DIT working hours. The purpose of this Competition is to procure a qualified and competent security services provider to provide Control Room monitoring staff, together with key holding, call out other associated services to cover all times when the Control Room is not staffed by DIT employees, all as defined in greater detail in the Request for Tenders document, published with this notice. The Contract (if any) that may result from this Competition will be issued for a term of 3 years (the โ€œContract Termโ€). DIT reserves the right to extend the Contract Term for up to two additional periods of 1 year each on the same terms and conditions, subject to DIT obligations at law.
