NCSS 14/1 - โ€˜External Consultancy Services for Performance Improvement โ€“ Screening Colonoscopy Units'

National Cancer Screening Service

The NCSS is seeking to procure external consultancy services for supporting performance improvement in Screening Colonoscopy Units (SCUs). These currently number nine units in total and expected to reach twelve units by the end of 2014. It is anticipated that the principal requirements of the contract will require a time commitment of between 1-2 days per week. Service Providers must have a proven track record at a senior level of relevant management experience, including proven ability in developing and implementing plans at a strategic and operational level. Significant experience in delivering sustainable improvements in the delivery of endoscopy services related to screening programmes is a mandatory requirement to be consideration for award.
The purpose of the contract is to ensure, under the direction of the NCSS Medical Director โ€“ Screening Policy, that sustainable improvements are made in relation to the operation of Screening Colonoscopy Units (SCUs) associated with BowelScreen โ€“ The National Bowel Screening Programme. This will include capacity planning and demand management, maximising productivity through appropriate booking and scheduling and assisting the NCSS with the performance management of SCUs according to agreed Memoranda of Understandings (MOUs).
