The maintenance dredging works are to be undertaken at DEFHC and comprise:
1. Dredging to the design dredge depths illustrated on the tender drawings and as per the Works Requirements (Vol A).
2. Disposal of the dredged material at a suitable licensed disposal facility(s) taking into account the information provided in this tender. Chemical analysis has shown that most of the proposed dredge material is contaminated with heavy metals and TBT and cannot be disposed of at sea. The extent of the dredge area is approximately 28,000 mยฒ. Approximately 20,000 mยณ to 30,000 mยณ of material is to be removed from the harbour and disposed of at a suitable licensed disposal facility(s).
