14/2 — Provision of Contingency Endoscopy Services in support of and the delivery of BowelScreen — The National Bowel Screening Programme

National Cancer Screening Service

The National Cancer Screening Service (NCSS) part of the HSE is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified independent service providers for the provision of contingency colonoscopy services in support of and the delivery of BowelScreen – The National BowelScreening Programme.
This is not a call for competition but rather to appoint suitably qualified service providers to a multi vendor framework agreement panel should such services set down in this document be required in the future.
Successful providers appointed to this panel would therefore be deemed qualified to participate in any mini competition for the provision of services sought under this expression of interest.
Screening colonoscopies are currently performed by public hospital-based Screening Colonoscopy Units contracted by the NCSS by way of memorandums of understanding (MOU's).
Currently, there are 11 public hospital-based Screening Colonoscopy Units with this number expected to increase to 14 by 2015.
Note: Further public hospital-based Screening Colonoscopy Units may increase over time within the Republic of Ireland however this does not affect the remit of the contingency services sought under this expression of interest.
Mandatory service requirements outlined within the attached tender documents.
