Supply of turf for domestic home heating - Request for Tenders for the Provision of Turf for domestic home heating as part of the Cessation of Turf Cutting Compensation Scheme

The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht invites responses to this request for tenders from economic operators for the provision of the services as described in Appendix 1 to this RFT. The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is the Contracting Authority for this public procurement competition. This public procurement competition relates to the provision of turf for domestic home heating as part of the Cessation of Turf Cutting Compensation Scheme. The successful service provider must be operating in the area of commercial turf extraction for a minimum of 5 years and will be required to supply and deliver to any location in Ireland 15 tonnes of good quality fuel sod peat of less than 36 % moisture for domestic home heating at a fixed price per household during 2014 and 2015.
It is estimated that a minimum of 400 and a maximum of 600 households will require a turf delivery during 2014 and 2015. Any contract that may result from this public procurement competition will be issued for a term of 24 months. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend the term for a period of up to 12 months with a maximum of 24 months. Any such extension or extensions will be on the same terms and conditions subject to the Contracting Authority's obligations at law. Tenders must be received not later than 17.00 on 29.11.2013. Tenders that are received after this date will not be considered in this public procurement competition.
