Bord Gáis Energy is undertaking a competitive tendering process, seeking to enter into a contract with one or more providers to meet its requirements for provision of Insurance Broking Services. The expected scope of the contract includes but is not limited to the following works: - The provision of Insurance Broking Services in respect of the following insurance policies that fall due for renewal on 1.8.2013. Lot 1: Policies placed for Bord Gais Eireann and/or Bord Gais Energy including Associated/Subsidiary Companies only:
Property Damage/Business Interruption (Offices); Employers Liability (ROI/NI); Public/Products Liability (Offices/Boiler Services/JV); Motor Fleet; Personal Accident/Travel; Computer; Engineering Inspection; Environmental Impairment Liability; Professional Indemnity; and Lot 2: Policies placed for Bord Gais Eireann (includes Bord Gais Networks and /or Bord Gais Energy): Directors & Officers Liability; Crime; Pension Trustee Liability.
It is anticipated that this contract will commence on 1.6.2013 and continue for a period of 3 years with an option to extend the contract for up to 2 years. For the avoidance of doubt, a separate contract will be entered into in respect of each lot and BGE reserve the right to proceed to ITT with and / or to award any of these lots.

A pre-qualification questionnaire will be issued to all candidates who respond to this notice. Expressions of interest should be addressed in writing and sent via email for the attention of The Energy Procurement Manager to dchodyn@bordgais.ie. The questionnaire will cover the financial, economic and technical capacity of the candidates. The questionnaire must be completed and returned to the address in I.1. above not later than 15:00 hrs on 25.3.2013. The responses will be used to assist in drawing up a tender list. This process may also include interviews with candidates. The contracting entity will not be responsible for any costs, charges or expenses incurred by candidates or tenderers relating to this contract award procedure. Candidates should note that Bord Gáis Éireann reserves the right at any time, and from time to time, at its absolute discretion, to transfer all or any part of the contract to a third party (which may be an associated company of Bord Gáis Éireann or otherwise). Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, Bord Gáis Éireann may exercise this right because it is required, or it considers it appropriate, to do so having regard to any arrangements implementing the unbundling requirements of the Third Gas Directive (Directive 2009/73/EC) in Ireland (expected to be implemented from approx. 3.3.2012). Where this competition is ongoing at the time of any transfer of the Energy business of Bord Gáis Éireann to a third party, such third party may take over the conduct of this competition. In such case, the contract will be awarded by and entered into with that third party. Requests to participate may be submitted by single entities or by groups of service providers. A group will not be required to convert into a specific legal form in order to submit a request to participate, but may if Bord Gáis Éireann considers it necessary to ensure that the contract is carried out to its satisfaction, be required to do so prior to award of the contract. Bord Gáis Éireann also reserves the right to contract with each member of the group on the basis of joint and several liability, or with one member of the group as a main contractor with a number of sub-contractors or on any other basis as Bord Gáis considers appropriate.
