Proposed development at Crana River, Buncrana, Co. Donegal
To supply and deliver on site to the Buncrana Angling Association, Buncrana, Co. Donegal, Republic of Ireland:
1. 4 No. 18' lake boats each suitable for carriage of 3 anglers - must meet all Government safety specifications;
2. Pins and oars for each boat;
3. 4 No. outboard electric motors. In order to save on the expense of additional marine quality batteries and to avoid a manual handling problem putting them onto the boats, the Buncrana Angling Association requires the following spec: Integrated lithium battery and charger; Minimum run time of two hours at half throttle; at minimum comparable output to 1.5HP petrol engine; Protective class IP67 against dirt and water ingress; minimum 1 year manufacturer's warranty;
4. 12 No. automatically inflating life vests suitable for angling: preference is for 150 newton, automatic inflation, with crotch straps. Must carry a CE mark;
In relation to the boats: these should be well proven lake boats, designed specifically to be a good drift boat and to have the highest safety standards, for example:
- Buoyancy: fore and aft buoyancy tanks, as in most standard lake boats, making it difficult for the boat to turn over;
- Construction: please describe the content of fibreglass and / or timber in the boat. What degree of maintenance is required from year to year and what annual overhead costs typically arise?
- Keel and Side Keels: details of how these are supplied and fitted to the hull - e.g. A4 grade stainless steel bolts and screws, type of material, etc.
- Drainage: details please, e.g. all boats fitted with a brass bung;
Transom: how fitted out to assist in securing an outboard;
- Floor/deck: how floors/decks constructed and fitted;
- Other fittings: e.g. stainless steel U Bolt at the bow / a stainless steel ring boat on the transom for security / rowlock sockets in stainless steel? ( No galvanized fittings please);
- Warranty: details of any warranty offered.
