Procurement of a Consultant Geophysicist by the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources

The Consultant Geophysicist will be required to provide expert input as required across the broad spectrum of the Department's functions in this area, including:
โ€” Carrying out seismic interpretation, Kingdom and Landmark-based, on a wide range of projects at both a regional and prospect level;
โ€” Independent well depth prognoses and review and audit of licensees' interpretation reports;
โ€” Assisting in the evaluation of applications for new authorisations and providing input for the agreement of work programmes for new and existing authorisations;
โ€” Engaging with seismic contractors and oil companies in relation to the planning of geophysical surveys and providing expert input to the Department's assessment of applications for new geophysical data acquisition;
โ€” Participating at meetings with existing licensees and applicants\potential applicants;
โ€” Assisting with the development and delivery of the Department's promotion campaign addressed at attracting new investment in exploration in the Irish offshore. This work may involve engaging with senior oil industry personnel and attendance at conferences and exhibitions, both in Ireland and abroad;
โ€” Providing expert input as appropriate across a broad range of activities of the Department in this sector; and
โ€” Providing expert input to support the Department in respect of research projects in which it is involved.
