Painting of Four Oil Storage Tanks at Tarbert
The National Oil Reserves Agency (NORA) intends to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to paint four above-ground, atmospheric oil storage tanks which are located in Tarbert, Co. Kerry, Ireland. Each tank measures 61 metres in diameter and 14.5 metres high. The tanks were built in 1973 and much of the original painting system is still in place.
The contractor shall, prior to commencing the painting works, prepare and agree:
- The design of the painting system to be used on the tanks;
- The Works Programme;
- The Quality, Documentation, Construction Environmental Management, and Inspection & Test Plans;
- The Method Statement and Risk Assessments.
Thereafter, the Contractor shall:
- Prepare the surface of the tanks in accordance with the agreed specification;
- Paint the tanks in accordance with the agreed specification;
- Inspect and test the painting systems in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan;
- Maintain and updated the Health and Safety Plan.
The contractor shall also act as the PSCS for the duration of the Works.
