NUIG/CON249/13 - In vivo Photoacoustic Tomography System
We are looking for a photoacoustic tomography system which has the ability to image structure and function in vivo in its native 3D state. Detection and quantification of function in its structural context is state-of-the art in small animal research. The chosen device will be a significant advancement on the current facilities and maximise the group's abilities to engage in high impact discovery and publish high impact papers. Key features of the photoacoustic imaging modules will include some of the following:
â In vivo imaging deep tissue capability;
â Hand-held photoacoustic scanner suitable for human use;
â Ability to see function in its structural context;
â High sensitivity and specificity;
â Resolution of 150 Ξm or better;
â Laser features which may be useful to other applications;
â Appropriate safety systems and accessories.
