N6 Galway By-pass Multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy Services
Galway County Council requires engineering consultancy services in relation to the N6 Galway Bypass Scheme. The Scheme involves provision of an outer bypass for Galway City, extending from the R336 Regional Road west of Galway City, linking up with the N6 Galway to Ballinasloe Scheme. The Scheme has an approximate length of 21 km.
The Scope of Work may include some or all of the following as well as other related services;
— Take possession of and assimilate all documentation produced to-date in relation to the scheme, including hardcopy and information held electronically;
— Design, Traffic Modelling, Cost Benefit Analysis/ Risk Assessment and Environmental services in order to complete Phase 3 (Design) and advance the proposed development through Phase 4 (EIS/EAR & The Statutory Processes) of the National Roads Authority National Roads Project Management Guidelines 2010.
— Duties relating to fulfilling the roles of Designer and Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) pursuant to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations;
— Procure and Supervise topographical and ground investigation surveys;
— Determine requirements of statutory and non statutory undertakers and service providers;
— Provision of assistance to the Client in the design of accommodation works for landowners;
— Other duties considered appropriate to the Brief.
The Consultants will be required to provide the necessary design support and documentation to enable Galway County Council to fast track this Scheme, and will be required to co-locate relevant members of the design Team to the Client's Offices located at the National Road Design Office in Ballybrit, Galway City.
