Extension, refurbishment and restoration of St Angela's College, St Patrick's Hill, Cork
The development will consist of the extension, refurbishment and restoration of St Angela's existing campus in Cork city centre on approx 0.57 hectare site bounded by St Patrick's Hill, Hardwick Lane and Richmond Hill. The works comprise the demolition of a number of existing Buildings on site including the existing prefabricated structures, extension to the Main House and extensions to the former Ursuline Convent House, demolitions approx 1098m2. Restoration and refurbishment of a number of Protected Structures, Convent House for use as library and staff room, Main House and High School for use as classrooms and dining hall, the Protected Gate Lodge for its use as an ancillary services area, the relocation of the existing Garden Gazebo within the site, restorations approx 2114m². The construction of a new Physical Education/General Purpose Hall with fenced external play area at roof level and external play area, a new Science Block (with basement level and 4 stories over) and an Arts Block (ranging from single storey at north wall to 4 stories) which will incorporate classrooms and ancillary offices/storage areas, new buildings approx 4271m2. Access will be from Patrick's Hill with the provision of the main pedestrian access at the existing location, a new pedestrian access to the former Convent on Patrick's Hill, a new vehicular entrance, turning area, and disabled parking area for 3no. vehicles, bicycle parking, bin store all located off St Patrick's Hill, additional fire escape access directly on to Hardwick Lane and Richmond Hill, delivery access from Richmond Hill through an existing access. The construction of a series of ancillary outdoor courtyards and terraces throughout, ancillary landscaping, amendments to ground levels, and all associated site development works.
