Energy Efficiency Credits resulting from incentivised works in the Residential sector

Electricity Supply Board

In addition to energy efficency credits generated through it's own activities, Electric Ireland also intends to contract with a number of Energy Credit Partners for the provision of Energy Efficency Credits under the broad headings oulined in Section II.2.I
Electric Ireland anticipates an obligation to deliver energy efficiency 'credits' for the period 2014 โ€“ 2020 (7 years) under the transposition of the EU's new Energy Efficiency Directive into Irish law (due by June 2014). Therefore Electric Ireland is seeking providers of 'Energy Efficiency Credits' (from energy efficiency work) which can be assigned to Electric Ireland for the purposes of being counted towards the energy efficiency target which will be set for Electric Ireland. Under EU rules, only energy credits generated within the Republic of Ireland will qualify as this is the Member State within which Electric Ireland has the obligation. Energy Credits will be required to be validated by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and assigned by SEAI to Electric Ireland. Proposals will be welcomed from one company, a number of affiliated companies, a Trade body or a consortium. [Energy Credit Partner (ECP)]. An information sheet will be made available to all companies who respond to this Notice. The closing date for Expressions of Interest will be as per IV.3.4. It is envisaged that contracts will be agreed with up to 15 suppliers.
Electric Ireland reserves the right to revisit the market for specific assignments.
