Cork City Water Supply Scheme - Leak Detection Contract

Cork City Council (Utility)

Cork City Council, who are responsible for the treatment and distribution of drinking water within the Cork City functional area, are implementing a Water Conservation Project.
A particular element of the Project is the progression of active leak detection and repair. To this end, Cork City Council wish to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Service Provider to carry out leakage detection in order to achieve set leakage targets.
The Leak Detection Contract will be undertaken within 11 District Metered Areas, which comprise approximately 187 km of water distribution network servicing 14,945 properties.
The Leak Detection Contract will run in tandem with a separate Leak Repair Contract, with an overall aim to reduce current unaccounted for water levels in these areas by approximately 8.2Ml/day over a 9 month period. These savings are then to be maintained or improved upon during a subsequent 3 month maintenance period.
The Service Provider will be responsible for the location/detection, marking, and reporting of leaks on the trunk and distribution mains (including services) and for the prioritisation and scheduling of repairs. Repairs will be carried out by a Contractor appointed to a separate Leak Repair Contract.
The Leak Detection Contract may be extended to include further DMA's and/or trunk mains and the service period may be extended. The option to extend the service shall be at the sole discretion of Cork City Council based on performance and it shall be subject to the approval of the
Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government and/or Irish Water and procurement rules. Electronic copies of the Instructions to Tenderers and Suitability Assessment Questionnaire are attached to this notice and can be obtained following registration of interest.
Note: A full set of Tender Documents will be dispatched following receipt of a written request and a deposit of EUR 200 made payable to RPS Consulting Engineers, Innishmore, Ballin.
