005/13 - Prototype Integrated Care (Diabetes) System
Acquisition/development, pilot test and service support of a functioning prototype ICT system providing application software and architecture for an Integrated Care Diabetes IT System (ICDS). The purpose of the prototype is to enable and test the secure, controlled and automated exchange of clinical information across the primary and secondary care settings and to provide proof of concept in a time limited trial among a nominated sample of GP's/GP practices and hospital consultants. This contract is limited in the duration and scope of application of the pilot project (refer to tender documents). Evaluation of the pilot will inform any decisions on the further adoption of ICDS model in the Irish healthcare system, which will, in that event, be subject of a separate tender competition to meet future requirements.
