Technical Inspection Services for the Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness (CVR) Programme

The Contractor will support the contracting authorityโ€™s drive to supervise and enforce standards in relation to the roadworthiness and maintenance of commercial vehicles. In this regard, the Contractor will be required to conduct a number of different types of technical inspections and follow up inspections (โ€œInspectionsโ€) at:
โ€” premises used by operators of commercial vehicles, and
โ€” commercial vehicle test centres.
Located anywhere in the State in accordance with standard operating procedures to be developed by the Contractor for such Inspections.

Tenderers should note that Vol II containing the specimen Contract will be issued to tenderers shortly. For the assistance of tenderers, it is envisaged that Schedule 5 (Service Description) of the specimen Contract will be issued in the coming days. As detailed in the Request for Tenders, including but not limited to: (a) any contract award is subject to production of a current tax clearance certificate from the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland; (b) all costs incurred by tenderers in preparing tender submission must be borne by them. The contracting authority accepts no liability for these costs, irrespective of the outcome of the competition, or if the competition is postponed or cancelled; (c) the contracting authority may terminate this competition (or any part thereof), change the basis of and the procedures for the bidding process, at any time, or procure the project by alternative means if it appears that the project can thereby be more advantageously procured.
